Mental Health Research and Clinical Support Intern
Tanya is a co-op student currently completing her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Waterloo. In addition to her Honours Psychology major, she is pursuing a minor in Medical Physiology to deepen her understanding of the human brain and body. Tanya has a strong passion for studying psychopathology and aspires to build a career in clinical psychology. Her passion to pursue a career in psychology came to light in high school, where she helped organize events that raised awareness about the importance of mental health. She is driven by a desire to support others struggling and make a meaningful difference in their lives.
As an intern, Tanya contributes to psychology journal research to help ensure therapy sessions integrate diverse, evidence-based perspectives. Additionally, Tanya helps manage Street Therapy’s Instagram page by keeping content aligned with significant monthly/weekly events and dates. Additionally, she supports the coordination and outreach initiatives within the KW community.
During her internship at Street Therapy, Tanya hopes to further expand her knowledge on anxiety and ADHD. She is thrilled to be part of a compassionate, dedicated team and looks forward to developing her skills within a clinical setting.
